Is this cry-it-out?

No. Cry-it-out (extinction) means closing the door and not returning until morning. This plan does NOT include that method. All four gentle methods involve the parent being PRESENT — either in the room, making regular check-ins, or physically comforting and gradually reducing support. Some fussing or protest crying may occur during the adjustment (this is normal), but you are ALWAYS responsive. The goal is teaching self-soothing WITH support, not without it.

At what age can I start?

Most babies are developmentally ready for gentle self-soothing from 4-6 months. Before 4 months: focus on environment (darkness, white noise, swaddle) and consistent bedtime routine — formal sleep training is too early. At 4-6 months: the gentlest methods work (chair method, pick-up-put-down). At 6-12 months: all methods work, babies learn fastest at this age. At 12-24 months: still works but takes longer due to stronger habits and separation awareness.

What if my partner and I disagree on the approach?

Alignment is critical — different approaches on different nights confuses the baby and stalls progress. The plan includes a partner conversation script: discuss comfort levels with crying, agree on ONE method, decide who does which nights. If one parent can’t tolerate hearing crying: they leave the house during the initial nights (this is valid and common). What matters: the baby gets CONSISTENT responses, regardless of which parent responds.

Will my baby still need night feeds?

Depends on age. Under 6 months: yes, 1-2 night feeds are nutritionally appropriate. At 6-9 months: most babies can drop to 0-1 night feeds. At 9+ months: most babies can sleep 10-12 hours without feeding (confirm with your pediatrician). The plan includes the gradual feed-reduction method (5-3-1): reduce feed duration over a week so baby’s stomach adjusts without shock. Night feeds and self-soothing training can happen simultaneously.

What if it’s not working after a week?

First: check consistency. Did EVERY bedtime follow the same method? Did both parents respond the same way? Inconsistency is the #1 reason plans stall. Second: check the schedule — overtiredness or under-tiredness both cause resistance. Third: is baby sick, teething, or in a developmental leap? Pause during illness, resume after. Refunds & Returns

Order cancellation

All orders can be cancelled until they are shipped. If your order has been paid and you need to make a change or cancel an order, you must contact us within 12 hours. Once the packaging and shipping process has started, it can no longer be cancelled.
